Schonbek exhibits new lamp designs at High Point in a new and expanded exhibit space
PLATTSBURGH, NY –-Schonbek is exhibiting at High Point this year for the second time, and the company has already taken a larger space to accommodate a continually expanding lamp collection. 90 Schonbek lamps will be on display, including over a dozen totally new designs.
The new location at High Point is:
200 NORTH HAMILTON STREET
SUITE 212 SOUTH COURT
“Most lamps are mere accessories,” said President & CEO Andrew Schonbek. “Our goal is to create lamps that will be perceived as art objects, lamps so personable that the homeowner might be tempted to design whole rooms around them.
“We work with fine Bohemian lead crystal vases, richly colored crystal urns and ornaments, chunky glass rods and semi-precious quartzes like rock crystal and amethyst.”
Lampshades are unique to Schonbek. Luxuriant fabrics include cut velvet, silvery sheers and Dupioni silk. A shade might be trimmed with British braiding, classic piping, soutache, tassels or eyelash fringe, depending on the design.
Even the finial is artfully composed – a crystal sculpture in miniature.
Styles include classic, contemporary and purely whimsical. Many recent designs are wildly colorful, from foot to finial.
Every Schonbek lamp is an original design, carrying the Schonbek hallmark. Many designs come with built-in dimmer switches.
